ALTMAN, Franc W. (Bellevue, IA, July 22,1860--Dubuque, IA, Nov. 20, 1924). President of the UNION ELECTRIC COMPANY. Altman organized and promoted the Eastern Iowa Electric Company for many years before selling it. One of the owners of the Dubuque Water Works when it was purchased by the city, Altman was also involved in the construction of the Security Building.
Altman served as president of the Union Electric Company before it became the Dubuque Electric Company and was one of the first presidents of the DUBUQUE CLUB. He was survived by his son, Franc K. ALTMAN.
