RAYMOND, George Newcomb. (Sherburn Falls, NY, May 12, 1833-Dubuque, IA, Feb. l0,1917).City recorder. Raymond came to Dubuque in 1859 and became one of the region's best-known wholesalers and retailers of crockery. In 1907 he retired and entered the insurance business in the firm of Coates and Robinson.
