TYPOGRAPHICAL LOCAL NO. 22. The 1959 ''Dubuque City Directory'' listed 111 W. 6th.
TYPOGRAPHICAL UNION.  One of the first trade unions organized on a national level in 1852, the local union was formally organized on November 4, 1854.  Local printers issued certificates to qualified traveling journeymen to protect themselves and their employers from those who fraudulently claimed to be journeymen.  The union also worked to establish a "scale of prices regulating the price of labor."
 
The local union established a list of strikebreakers, a strike fund, and transfer rights.
 
Typographical Local No. 22 was listed in the 1941 ''Dubuque City Directory'' at 280 W. 6th.
 
The 1959 ''Dubuque City Directory'' listed 111 W. 6th.

TYPOGRAPHICAL UNION. One of the first trade unions organized on a national level in 1852, the local union was formally organized on November 4, 1854. Local printers issued certificates to qualified traveling journeymen to protect themselves and their employers from those who fraudulently claimed to be journeymen. The union also worked to establish a "scale of prices regulating the price of labor."

The 1959 Dubuque City Directory listed 111 W. 6th.
