ZIEREIS GROCERY. Constructed in 1903 for J. Ziereis, the building was used as a butcher shop and grocery store while the rooms above were used by Joseph and Pauline Ziereis to raise their family. The business lasted until Joseph's death in 1939.
In 2010 the building was the home of Denlinger Insurance Company--2600 Jackson. Oddly a small metal street sign on the southern side of the building identified 27th Street.
