HAM & CARVER. The 1868 Guide, Gazetteer and Directory of the Dubuque & Soux (sic) City Railroad stated that this business was located at the corner of Main & 6th. The 1874-1875 Dubuque City Directory stated that this business was located in the New Herald Building. According to the 1883 Dubuque City Directory, the business was re-located to the southeast corner of 6th and Locust.
