KEY CITY ROOFING COMPANY. Established in 1894, the company's offices were located at 8th and White STREETS in 1919. In addition the company had a warehouse at 7th and Washington and another on the levee. Key City Roofing in 1919 was the largest wholesaler of building materials other than lumber and brick in Iowa and a region within one hundred miles of Dubuque.

Key City Roofing was held the franchise in the area for Atlas Portland cement, Barger Asphalt Paper Roofing, and Cary Magnesia Roofing. Other materials sold by the company included pitch, coal tar, roofing paints, deadening felts, wall copings, sewer pipe, flue linings, mortar colors, mineral wood, line hair, fire brick, and fire clay.
