On February 5, 1951, the [[WAHLERT FOUNDATION]] and a group of Dubuque businessmen who had purchased the course for $125,000 presented the deed to the course to the City of Dubuque. The city was to maintain the eighteen-hold course and make the grounds available for recreation.
