In 1853 Andrew returned to Dubuque and entered into partnership with Alfred TREDWAY. The men operated a firm known as Andrew and Tredway at 484 and 488 Main Street. This business, later known as A. TREDWAY AND SONS, was advertised as the first hardwood wholesaler west of the MISSISSIPPI RIVER. After twenty-five years, both partners retired from business. Andrew served as a stockholder and director of the COMMERCIAL NATIONAL BANK.
