The owner and operator of HOLSCHER'S APOTHECARY, INC. from 1950 to 1968, Holscher served as a member of the board of directors of AMERICAN TRUST AND SAVINGS BANK beginning in 1962. In 1968, he held the position of executive vice-president. Holscher also served as a director of Dubuque Baseball, Inc., trustee of the CARNEGIE-STOUT PUBLIC LIBRARY, and director of the Dubuque County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
