In 1954 Kilgore began broadcasting news and became the news director in 1956. His around-the-clock spot reports during the 1965 [[MISSISSIPPI RIVER]] flood often included directing flood workers to troubled areas. In 1954 Kilgore began broadcasting news and became the news director in 1956.
