KING, D. Michael. (Dundee, IL- ). [[MAYOR]] of Dubuque, 1981. King, an attorney, announced his candidacy for a position on the Dubuque City Council in September 1977. In announcing his intention to run, King stated his interest in the council as taking a positive look at the development of neighborhood parks, recreation areas, and the use of [[CITY ISLAND]] for recreational purposes.

King has served as second vice-president of the [[DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE]] and was active in seeking development of the downtown area. He served for several years as president of the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City.
