Dale served on the board of trustees of [[XAVIER HOSPITAL]], development councils of [[CLARKE COLLEGE]] and [[LORAS COLLEGE]], and the board of directors of [[AMERICAN TRUST AND SAVINGS BANK]]. He chaired the International Trade Division of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) in Washington, D.C.
