RHOMBERG, Alphonse J. (Austria, June 15, 1843--Unknown). Wholesale dealer in wine and liquor. In 1899 Rhomberg joined his brother [[RHOMBERG, Frank M.|Frank M. RHOMBERG]] in organizing Rhomberg Brothers and Company, a wholesaler of wine and liquor. They remained in business through 1915. Iowa's prohibition law forced the Rhombergs and other liquor merchans to change their business. The Rhombergs changed the name of their business to the Rhomberg Beverage Company; for the short time they remained open they manufactured Key City Club Beverage.
