ST. GEORGE SOCIETY.  A notice was placed in the ''Dubuque Herald'' on December 12, 1876 that all people claiming England as their birthplace were to meet in the parlor of the [[JULIEN HOUSE]] on December 14th to form this social club.

GEORGE SOCIETY.  A notice was placed in the ''Dubuque Herald'' on December 12, 1876 that all people claiming England as their birthplace were invited to meet in the parlor of the [[JULIEN HOUSE]] on December 14th. The object was to form this social club. No further mention of the organization has been found. (1)
 
It may be that this organization, whether it was organized or not, was formed to be part of the St. George Society which was formed in 1776 in Philadelphia. (2)

ST. GEORGE SOCIETY. A notice was placed in the Dubuque Herald on December 12, 1876 that all people claiming England as their birthplace were invited to meet in the parlor of the JULIEN HOUSE on December 14th. The object was to form this social club. No further mention of the organization has been found. (1)

It may be that this organization, whether it was organized or not, was formed to be part of the St. George Society which was formed in 1776 in Philadelphia. (2)
