UNION FAMILY PHARMACY. In November, 2003 Linda Bartels, owner of The Prescription Shoppe pharmacies in Dyersville and Monticello, Iowa, announced her purchase of the Dubuque pharmacy located at 2541 Central Ave.
State authorities had closed Union Family Pharmacy in September, accusing the business of working with Pharmacom, LLC, based in the U.S. Virgin Islands, to sell prescription drugs via the Internet. But Union Family Pharmacy was licensed to operate only in Iowa.
The emergency closure left customers without a pharmacy and without access to their records.
The 1993 Dubuque City Directory continued to list the address as 2541 Central.
