DUBUQUE PARADISE CHURCH. Originally constructed in 1923 as a Lutheran church, the building at 2501 Jackson in 2016 was leased as the Dubuque Paradise Church. The idea for the project was that of Sister [[HUEWE, Helen|Helen HUEWE]]. Renovation began immediately with a fundraising program. Raising about $220,000 meant work could begin replacing the roof, installing two boilers, and rewiring large sections of the building. The project was completed in 2021 with the help of community members and the church's [[MARSHALLESE]] congregation.
