HOEFFLIN, Charles. (Baden, Germany--East Dubuque, IL, September 13, 1919 ). Hoefflin came to the United States in 1887 and settled in St. Louis. In 1889 he moved to Dubuque and operated the WINONA HOUSE.

Hoefflin sold the hotel and operated a wholesale and retail liquor store on Couler Avenue until January 1919. He then moved to East Dubuque.
