His lifelong love of bowling started as a pin setter in the bowling alleys in the basement of Sacred Heart’s Marquette Hall in the 1940s. Pregler was also an active member in the Dubuque County Democratic Party and ran for Party Chair in 1967 and was nominated for chair in 1974. Gerald "Jerry" G. (Dubuque, IA, Sept 27, 1930 – Dubuque, IA, Dec 1, 2015) Gerald was best known for his long-time association with bowling in Dubuque.
