BYRNE, William J. (Dubuque, IA, Feb. 4, 1921--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 12, 1987). Byrne attended LORAS ACADEMY and LORAS COLLEGE and graduated from Iowa State University. He served in WORLD WAR II and was the county engineer for Allamakee County, Dubuque County for eighteen and one-half years, and Wapello County for eleven years.
