He also played football and ran track. He received both an undergraduate degree in English writing and a master’s degree in physical education from Loras. Romagnreceived a doctor of education in educational leadership from National Louis University in Chicago, IL.  


After college, he soon began a bodybuilding career. After his debut in 1994, he attended twenty-four competitions, including Musclemania and the Team Universe. In 2000, at the NPC Los Angeles Championships, he was placed at third position as a drug free competitor in a non-tested competition. On June 19, 2004 during the NPC Junior National Championships, he took fourteenth place.
After college, Romagna began a bodybuilding career. After his debut in 1994, he attended twenty-four competitions, including Musclemania and the Team Universe. In 2000, at the NPC Los Angeles Championships, he placed third as a drug free competitor in a non-tested competition. On June 19, 2004 during the NPC Junior National Championships, he took fourteenth place.


In 2006 he appeared on the cover of the March issue of ''Muscle & Fitness'' magazine. He repeated in June the next year.

He was also a personal trainer and wrote columns for ''Muscle & Fitness'' and "LIVE FIT" ''Telegraph Herald''. He was the owner of Natural Fit Personal Training and Consulting Inc., operated camps under the name of Romagna Performance, and was the strength and conditioning coach of the [[DUBUQUE FIGHTING SAINTS]].

University of Dubuque officials announced in May, 2022 that Romagna had been inducted into the Faculty Hall of Fame for Excellence in Teaching and Advising.  In addition, he was a certified strength and conditioning coach and a certified personal trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
