ADE, George Henry. (Jevington, England, Feb. 14, 1828--Mason City, IA, Apr. 29, 1914). Ade served as an apprentice in the butchering business of his father. The business served the Queen's residence, Buckingham Palace, and the Duke of Wellington. | |||
Ade emigrated to America in 1854 and came to Dubuque County. After a brief experience in farming for six weeks, he began working at his trade in Dubuque. In 1856 he went into partnership with John Ruegamer.
