ECLECTIC ARCHITECTURE. Eclectic architecture brings together a mixture of architectural styles in which no one style dominates the others. The FANNIE STOUT HOUSE at 1145 Locust Street features a Byzantine dome, corbel chimneys and a turret generally found on QUEEN ANNE ARCHITECTURE, and widows' walks characteristic of New England architecture.

Looking closely at the chimney, passersby will see a window in the chimney flue. This same unique architectural feature was also used in the STOUT HOUSE owned by Frank D. STOUT, Fannie's father.
