TRUEBLOOD, Terry. (Lyons, CO- ). Trueblood was appointed recreation director in 1982 when the park and recreation departments were combined by the City Council. He replaced Richard J. SLATTERY who moved to Davenport to became Director of the Parks and Recreation Department.
With Trueblood’s guidance, the city developed park and recreation facilities on CHAPLAIN SCHMITT ISLAND, improved facilities at BUNKER HILL GOLF COURSE, and expanded recreational programming. In 1986 Trueblood resigned to take a similar position in Iowa City.
