STEWART AND EMERSON. The 1865 Dubuque City Directory through the 1868 Guide, Gazetteer and Directory of the Dubuque & Soux (sic) City Railroad stated that this business was located at 77 Main. The company had originally been Stewart, Emerson and Company until 1867 when H. W. Armington withdrew from the business which was renamed Stewart and Emerson. (1)
