Adams, formerly a teacher in Dubuque and an employee of the [[ADAMS COMPANY (Encyclopedia Dubuque)]], served on the board of the [[YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION (Y.W.C.A.)]], held office in the [[DUBUQUE FEDERATED WOMEN'S CLUB]], and was president, secretary and treasurer of the Dubuque County Library. For five years, she served as president of the Episcopal Women of Iowa. (1)  In 1966 she was elected a director of the [[DUBUQUE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY]]. (2)
