The son of Harland "Bub" and Rose Mary (Quint) Leytem, Robert's successful bar career began in Cascade with the Cellar Door in the mid-1970s. He later managed the Rose Garden and Labamba restaurant and bar both in Maquoketa, Iowa. Leytem's proudest business accomplishment was the [[DOG HOUSE LOUNGE (THE)]] in Dubuque, which was opened in 1984.  


His successful bar career began in Cascade with the Cellar Door in the mid-1970s. He later managed the Rose Garden and Labamba restaurant and bar, both in Maquoketa, Iowa. Bub's proudest business accomplishment was the [[DOG HOUSE LOUNGE (THE)]] in Dubuque, which was opened in 1984.

Obituary


Bub enjoyed golfing, skiing, scuba diving and many other forms of physical fitness. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the sun and taking a yearly tropical vacation with his family. Bub took great pleasure in riding his Harley, driving sports cars and being actively involved in the lives of his loved ones and friends. Retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre made a surprise visit to see him on June 25.
