Brimeyer graduated from St. Francis Catholic School in Balltown. He served with the United States Army in San Francisco from 1954 - 1956 and was a First Sergeant in the Motor Pool. In 1957 he started a one man body shop in Balltown. He moved [[BRIMEYER AUTO BODY]] to John F. Kennedy Road and operated it until 1995.

Brimeyer was very involved with stock car racing over the years and generously sponsored many cars. Willard was a member of the [[DUBUQUE SHOOTING SOCIETY]], Dubuque County Fair Association, Balltown River Trails & Asbury Snowhawks Snowmobile Clubs, and served on the Dubuque County Conservation Board, which led him to many volunteer hours on the [[HERITAGE TRAIL]].
