MISSISSIPPI BAND. In 1972 Dwayne Fudge and Bill "Crickett" Davis started the country/blues/rock band which has had many members. The original band members included Fudge (guitar and vocals), Davis (bass guitar), Dave Hummel (guitar and vocals), Charlie Troy (drummer), and Mark Oberfell (pedal steel, banjo, and fiddle).

After winning the Sundown Country Music Festival, they went on the road from 1977 to 1983 playing concerts with Hank Williams Jr., Ernest Tubb, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Sha Na Na, and Dr. Hook nd the Medicine Show.  The band was hired in 1981 to appear in the movie "Take  This Job and Shove It."
