CITY TRADE LABEL. In 1893 following its adoption by Denver, Colorado and discussions of having one by the Commercial Club of St. Paul, Minnesota, business leaders in Dubuque considered creating a city trade mark. It was felt that with trade going all over the nation, a city trade mark would provide good advertising for the community.
