Father William Sassenein to "foster and maintain a true Christian spirit among its members, in order that they may became loyal Catholic men and good American citizens." This was to be achieved by "appropriate lectures at the monthly meetings, charitable conduct toward one another and avoidance of undesirable company." The president was always a priest of [[ST.
