SAMUELS, Benjamin M. (Parksburg, WV, Dec. 20 1823--Dubuque, IA, Aug. 16, 1863). Attorney. Samuels moved to Dubuque in 1848 and was soon elected city attorney. He was elected to the legislature in 1854 and three years later was nominated for governor.
