STUBER, John, Sr. (Solithorn, Switzerland, Oct. 18, 1832-Dubuque, IA, 1909). By way of several eastern cities, Stuber moved to Dubuque in 1857. He was employed by the NEWBURGH COMPANY (THE) and was later head painter of the Illinois Central system.
He joined fourteen other men to organize the DUBUQUE CABINET MAKERS' ASSOCIATION in 1867.
