Encyclopedia Dubuque is written and edited by Randolph Lyon, and many images are provided by Robert Joseph Reding. Additional images are provided by Tracy O'Meara at Dubuque Postcards and James Orvis at An Online Tour of Dubuque, Iowa. We wish to thank Chris Olson, Jean Stoltz, and William K. Hammel for fact-checking and contributions.
The encyclopedia website is maintained by Michael May and Jason Burds at Carnegie-Stout Public Library using MediaWiki software. Angela and Ransom Briggs helped establish the site in 2008. Encyclopedia Dubuque is owned and published by the Carnegie-Stout Library Foundation under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike License.
The encyclopedia was made possible by a grant from the Dubuque City Council’s 175th Anniversary Celebration Committee. The encyclopedia was also made possible by U.S. Bank which donated full copyright ownership of the original 1991 print edition of Randolph Lyon’s Dubuque: The Encyclopedia to the Carnegie-Stout Library Foundation.
