LANGE'S CIGAR STORES. Otto F. Lane began in the tobacco business as a traveling salesman. After establishing a record for sales, he became a jobber but found a contract he had entered into with a manufacturer was not being honored. He sue and won.

At this point in his career, Lange decided to become a manufacturer and open stores to sell his products including the Laniotto brand.

Lange's cigar stores included "The Red Boy" at the corner of 6th and Main; "The Cave" at 873 Main; and "The First National" at 14th and Clay.
