C. K. Mathis--2500 Broadway. Christian Mathis (Dubuque, IA, 1861--Dubuque, IA, Nov. 11, 1936) was the proprietor of the C. K. Mathis Brewery. He owned this house from 1894 to 1899 when it was purchased by Frederick N. KRETSCHMER. He owned the house from 1899 to 1908 when it was purchased by Henry Kiene. It was sold in 1910 to Frank M. RHOMBERG.
In 1963 the home was purchased by the Heitz family. They lived in the house until about 2009 when it was sold to the Wilhelm family began remodeling and painting the structure. A unique feature is the round porch off the kitchen. (1) The home was on the Tour of Homes in 2012.
