ADE, George Henry. (London, England, Feb. 14, 1830--Unknown). Ade grew up and served as an apprentice in the butchering business of his father. They served the Queen's residence, Buckingham Palace, and the Duke of Wellington.
Ade emigrated to America in 1854 and came to Dubuque County. After a brief experience in farming for six weeks, he began working at his trade in Dubuque. In 1856 he went into partnership with John Ruegamer. RUEGAMER AND ADE, butcher and dealers in fresh and salted meats, was located at 1216 Iowa Street.
