CLARK AND COWLES. In 1867 in addition to their saw mill, the company was the only tub and pail manufacturer in Iowa. In that year, the company turned out 1,400,000 feet of lumber, 800,000 lath, and 125,000 pails and tubs for a total value of $70,000. The firm employed twenty-eight. (1)
