&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;YOUNG AMERICA CONSOLIDATED MINING COMPANY OF DUBUQUE. Organized on April 13, 1878 with capital of $300,000 divided into $100 shares half of which was owned in Dubuque, the company by May owned a silver mine in Nevada. J. N. Hill of Dubuque was sent to the mine to look after the interests of the Dubuque owners and was made superintendent.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Mining operations were unable to begin until late July, but on August 12, 1878 a silver brick weighing 938.5 ounces was received in Dubuque by express. The value of the brick was $822.37.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Dubuque investors included [[STEWART, William G.|William G. STEWART]], [[SHIELDS, James H.|James H. SHIELDS]], [[FOUKE, Henry Boteler|Henry Boteler FOUKE]] and W. Y. Bissell.&lt;br /&gt;
