	WESSEL, Garlyn. (Colesburg, IA, Mar. 20, 1927--Dubuque, IA, July 11, 1982). Wessel came to Dubuque in 1965 as the first person to hold the office of assistant superintendent of the [[DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT]]. He had received his B.A. degree from the State College of Iowa, M.A. degree in 1956 from the University of Iowa, and his Ph.D in 1965 from the University of Iowa. He taught and coached and later served as principal in Guttenberg, Iowa. Wessel served as the superintendent of the Olds Consolidated School ~~Disgrict~~ in Henry County and the superintendent of the West Lyon Community School District in northwest Iowa.		WESSEL, Garlyn.
