	SUMMIT HOUSE. Located at the western terminus of the [[HILL STREET AND WEST DUBUQUE STEAM RAILWAY COMPANY]], the Summit House opened for business on February 16, 1878. (1) In the northwest corner of the building was a waiting room for the convenience of railway passengers. The public office contained a bar, soda fountain, confectionery, and fruit and cigar room. There was a dancing hall of the second floor along with dressing and bedrooms. The third floor contained a large billiard room. On the top of the building was a large balustrade for viewing miles of territory. (2)		SUMMIT HOUSE.
