	In 1968 Schuster began his dream of "duning" ~~similar~~ to the California experience in sand dunes to the Tri-State area with the construction of a "brush buggie" at his home. Beginning with a '56 Buick, Schuster removed the body and took 32 inches out of the frame. Then he constructed a new body and used the same engine. (1)		In 1968 Schuster began his dream of "duning." This led to the organization of the Mississippi Valley Brush Buggies--six individuals. By January 1969 there were eighty applications for membership. Rules were established including the fact that each person had to construct his own buggie. Formed in 1965 with six men, the unarmed unit was trained in the use of two-way radios and first aid. They proved themselves directing traffic at fires and floods.
