Chuck completed his undergraduate degree at Iowa Wesleyan University, a master’s degree at Colorado State University, and served his country in the United States Army. He was an accomplished teacher, coach, and elementary school principal in Dubuque for 40 years. (1)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Sports were always an important part of his life. As a principal at [[JACKSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL]], Chuck relished preparing his elementary students for the Washington Relays by training them including runs up the hill near [[DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL]]. (1) An avid golfer, he could proudly attest to having SIX holes in one. In addition to golf, he enjoyed fishing, music, biking and traveling. &lt;br /&gt;
