	Following the decision of the Iowa Legislature's Administrative Rules Review Committee around September 9th to allow shotgun hunting, the Dubuque City Council voted 4-3 to prepare legal documents to annex the Mines of Spain into the city of Dubuque. Such an annexation would have placed the land within the city limits and off-limits to hunting.
