	In 1966, Norman and Sally and their family moved to Dubuque where began his career at the ''Telegraph Herald'' as advertising director. Over the next two decades, his career advanced, eventually serving as business manager, and general manager. After the death of [[WOODWARD, Fred W.\|Fred W. WOODWARD]] in 1975 no one held the title of publisher of the ''Telegraph Herald'' for three years. Throughout his career, Norman held numerous leadership roles in professional organizations, including serving as president of the Inland Press Association, which honored him with its Distinguished Service Awards in 1987, 1988 and 1989. During retirement in Scottsdale, AZ, Norman enjoyed volunteering at the Desert Botanical Garden, reflecting his love for Arizona’s beautiful desert environment.
