	In 2003 restoration efforts for the area were being led by students from the [[CENTRAL ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL]]. Beginning in September Central students visited the site every day and plans were in place to continue the program through at least the end of the first academic quarter. The goal of the school was to have every Central student involved for at least a few hours. (1) Students earned credits in physical education for working in the park or in English for researching the history of the park and writing interpretive brochures about it. (2)		In 2003 restoration efforts for the area were being led by students from the [[CENTRAL ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL]]. Beginning in September Central students visited the site every day and plans were in place to continue the program through at least the end of the first academic quarter. 			In 2018 officials of the City of Dubuque signed a master agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers to develop potential environmental and recreational projects along the [[MISSISSIPPI RIVER]]. Among the idea that could be planned included "environmental enhancements" of Maus Park and Lake.

			Clean-up activities were continued in 2022 by students from [[WAHLERT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL]]. (3)
