	MARTIN LUTHER HOME FOR THE AGED. On February 13, 1950 the National Lutheran Council churches of Dubuque began a fundraising drive to raise money to establish a Martin Luther Home for the Aged in Dubuque~~. Canvassers would attempt to reach the more than 1,900 members. represented by the council~~. Participating congregations included [[HOLY TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH]], [[ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH]], [[ST. On February 13, 1950 the National Lutheran Council churches of Dubuque began a formal fundraising drive to raise money to establish a Martin Luther Home for the Aged in Dubuque. Participating congregations included [[HOLY TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH]], [[ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH]], [[ST. MATTHEW LUTHERAN CHURCH]], and [[ST. PETER'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH]]. (1) Canvassers would attempt to reach the more than 1,900 members. represented by the council.

	The first report ~~was made on February 23, 1958 with donations totaling~~ $14,919 ~~towards~~ a ~~goal~~ of $~~65,000~~.		Located at 340 Wartburg Place, the home was dedicated on June 10, 1951. At the time of the dedication, there were six residents. The home had a capacity of eighteen. (2) In the same year, a program to reduce the home's financial indebtedness of $65,000 was started. In August, 1951 the first report of the progress showed that $14,919.00 had been collected. Founders' certificates were available to anyone a contributing a minimum of $50.00. (3)

	[[LUTHER MANOR]] ~~was~~ an outgrowth of the Martin Luther Home for the Aged, in sold in 1968.		[[LUTHER MANOR]], an outgrowth of the Martin Luther Home for the Aged, was sold in 1968.
