	LECKIE, Charles. (Scotland, Dec. 25, 1828-- ). Leckie emigrated to America in 1849 settled in Dubuque in 1856. In 1880 he was the Alderman of the Fourth Ward. Leckie was one of the charter members of the St. Andrew's Society and served many years as its president. By that time, he had become an attorney.		During the [[CIVIL WAR]], Leckie served in the Quartermaster's Department. He returned to Dubuque and was elected Justice of the Peace. He held the office for six years. In 1880 he was the Alderman of the Fourth Ward. Leckie was one of the charter members of the St. Andrew's Society and served many years as its president. By that time, he had become an attorney.
