The son of Rhodes J. and Esther (Buckley) Isenhart Sr., Isenhart graduated from St. Mary&amp;#039;s High School in Clinton. He enlisted in the Navy and fought at the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa in [[WORLD WAR II]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He attended St. Ambrose College and received a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Iowa in 1950. He worked for Iowa &amp;amp; Illinois Gas &amp;amp; Electric Co., and Interstate Power Co., retiring from Interstate in 1987. He was a registered professional engineer, a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and served as president of the Clinton Engineer&amp;#039;s Club and the Dubuque Management Club.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Isenhart was a life member of the Jaycees and active in civic affairs, serving as chairman of the Traffic Commission in Clinton and on the Community Development Commission in Dubuque. He was a United Way volunteer, a member of the Chamber of Commerce in both Clinton and Dubuque and a counselor for Junior Achievement and for the Service Corps of Retired Executives. He was active in parish, school and scouting for many years, including president of the St. Mary&amp;#039;s PTA in Clinton and the Wahlert Home School Council. He was a member of the Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow. Isenhart was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. He served as Grand Knight for St. Edward&amp;#039;s Council 707 in Clinton and later for Council 510 in Dubuque.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In retirement, Isenhart was a realtor, a volunteer archaeologist in Iowa and Illinois, a coordinator of Online Genealogical Chats AOL and a member of the Dubuque Genealogical Society. &lt;br /&gt;
