Owned and operated by former Dubuque residents, the mine was located in Wyoming Territory. Yielding 500 tons of coal daily, the mine developed a vein of coal described as &quot;clean and solid five to six feet in depth.&quot; Established in 1893, the owners included Charles H. Meyer, J. S. Meyer, Dominick Rhomberg and Albert Heuchelin.<br /> <br /> By July 1894 the owners had established a company town of about forty houses. With an estimated two hundred workmen and their families in the forecast, plans were drawn for more construction.
