	HELBIG, Esther. An educator in the Dubuque public schools, Helbig served as the secretary of the Northeastern Iowa Teachers Association. (3) The same year she served as chairperson of the legislation committee of the Dubuque Parent Teacher Association and member of the executive committee of the Dubuque Adult Education Forum.

	Outside of her career, Helbing was active in the Girl Scouts. A committee member of ~~troop~~ 10, she received a ten year pin in 1942. (4) She was also a member of the League of Women Voters, Iowa Federation of Women's Clubs, American Legion Auxiliary, and the public affairs committee of the [[YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION (Y.W.C.A.)]]		Outside of her career, Helbing was active in the Girl Scouts. A committee member of Troop 10, she received a ten year pin in 1942.
